Mains of Taymouth has benefited from some of the very best travel PR coverage in newspapers and magazines, exploiting many aspects of the estate including holiday ownership of its new range of apartments; the restaurant on the estate and the owner's own home and cottage interiors.
PR was completely new for Hebridean Luxury Holidays but pitching their luxury product in one of the UK's most unspoilt destinations resulted in fantastic coverage which also highlighted the eco friendly interiors.
Encouraged by Advantage PR, who recognised a great story, chairman John Muir took the bold step of putting his head above the parapet at a time of economic downturn but was rewarded with a hugely positive informative article in business orientated Business 7 newspaper.
Muir Homes recently donated financial and in kind support to Peebles High School in regard to the construction of an innovative Training Centre for Construction Crafts, to be used by the school as well as the wider community - the first of its kind in Scotland. Radio Borders came along to interview both Chairman John Muir on the official launch day as well as several of the pupils from the school who had been involved with the project as a social enterprise venture, initially presenting to the Muir Board, applying for planning permission and overseeing the construction of the building which now sits in the grounds of the school.
Using a couple's own exclusive holiday home, created for them by Tighmor, as a feature in Homeplus Scotland perfectly showcased what this imaginative, high end developer was all about.
Something of a "hidden gem" only six miles from desirable St Andrews, Craigsanquhar House and Estate was in need of a brand awareness campaign to pitch at the luxury end of the travel market.
Having made a significant investment in its new boutique self catering lodges, Advantage PR attracted a number of leading travel journalists to stay and sample the delights. The historic main hotel with its gorgeous suites was also covered. As you can see from the coverage generated the fantastic setting with easy access to St Andrews and other historic parts of the Kingdom of Fife made for great copy.
Predominantly a walking hotel, PR for the New Dungeon Ghyll focused on its fabulous setting, attracting travel journalists who were already strongly into the outdoors. A competition in a quality lifestyle magazine in the NE of England complemented the campaign.
Editorial opportunities abound at the Atholl Palace Hotel with its fantastic grounds; great history; fascinating museum in the basement and up to the minute spa. A recent press trip by Lyndsay Watling of the Aberdeen Press & Journal was able to capture the whole ethos of the place with a piece which presented the Atholl Palace as the ideal place to stay in Highland Perthshire and looked at the relaxing spa and the museum as a place of interest too. Partnering Highland Safaris for activities, I was also able to give Lyndsay a fabulous Safari experience with them which she incorporated in the article, strengthening the overall attraction of the area and providing me with a great piece of editorial to keep both clients more than happy.
PR themed on "Lazy Days", indulgent short breaks with time to savour cycling, walking, golfing or on foodie or culture breaks has been very well received by travel journalists, pitching the Tontine as the ideal short break location making the very most of the beautiful Tweed Valley.
Playing up the history, character and luxury of this stunning 15th century castle in Sutherland has been the focus of the PR campaign coupled with eco initiatives made at the hotel and a future major expansion which will further build the brand as a luxury short break destination with spa and private dining rooms and as a great wedding location in the Highlands. As a part of Scotland which visitors may not have considered visiting before the wealth of wildlife to see in the area has also been highlighted together with great golf and places to visit such as distilleries for a real flavour of Scotland. Media from all over the UK have visited so far..
Aberdeen Press and Journal - Travel Review by Lyndsay Watling, and a profile piece on core products from Highland Safaris including Day Out of the City gift experience concept for Xmas market 2009.
Corporate business is very important to Deer Park which has a superb reputation for personal service and a great Championship golf course at its disposal as well as a whole host of other activities for the non golfer. Tapping into the incentive market was on the money for Deer Park and through setting up a day long experience with the Editor of HR Network Scotland magazine, a tightly targeted piece of copy was written looking at the Deer Park corporate offer in detail. This perfectly complemented the notion of Deer Park being "much more than just a golf course."
Ecooldesigns is a funky Edinburgh based company designing and manufacturing stylish products for the home which all have strong green credentials. The company also imports other recycled items from various parts of the globe including chairs made from recycled Californian wine barrels and recycled wire baskets woven by Zulu tribespeople. This coverage in the Scotland on Sunday Spectrum magazine Christmas Gift Guide highlights one of the key items in the signature "Cool Fire" Collection - the large dice tealight holder handmade from recycled aircraft aluminium. As a luxury and desirable item with a strong design look, it is essential to get this product into this type of showcase article.
Hardies are a well established firm with a great story to tell as to how they have come through the current economic downturn in the construction industry. Rather than burying their heads in the sand, they were willing to talk about the experience of surviving such a downturn and how having many diverse strings to their bow has helped them - and offers peace of mind to their clients.
Business 7 proved to be the ideal vehicle for this story with Managing Partner Jim McArthur presenting the case for the firm; his opinions on the industry; personal story and future directions
You can't really put a value on TV coverage for clients. It is great exposure for them. In this link to the primetime STV Show "The Hour" my client Paul Howard, Senior Auctioneer at Shapes in Edinburgh is discussing the forthcoming auction of Sir Harry Lauder memorabilia which Shapes was holding that coming weekend. It's a great 7 minute slot which really brings the human interest element to the fore.
My client Cocoa Black Chocolate School in Peebles was featured in this episode of BBC Landward just before Christmas, an ideal way to promote their superb chocolate making courses and also the growing popularity of such activities as a fun day out; gift for a loved one and way to improve your skills in the kitchen. I have to say that the chocolates look absolutely fabulous and it is all so tempting!
Ruth Hinks also recently appeared on STV's The Hour instructing the two presenters how to make chocolate Easter Eggs. Great fun was had by all and I think Ruth did very well indeed on live TV - her products looked amazing and making chocolate eggs together came across as great fun!
